St John’s Church and Community Centre

St Johns Church

St John’s Church and Community Centre is at the heart of village life.

It is used for community and school events, as well as for church services, and provides a focus for local life. KRDP supporters in the UK funded the construction of the building in 2001, and later paid for seating and a keyboard. Community events have covered a wide range, including providing space for a mobile dental clinic to be set up by a team of visiting UK dentists and nurses, who treated over 100 patients.

Tiling in St Johns Church

Thanks to a generous personal donation the floor of the church was tiled in 2010. The previous, concrete floor had been showing signs of wear and tear and the tilling has helped to preserve the building in better condition, as well as creating a welcoming feel inside the building.

We have continued to support the church with the installation of electricity for light and power, minor building repairs, repainting and the construction of a latrine block for people attending events at the church.
