Our work is mainly in the village of Kimaluli-Butta in the Manafwa district of Eastern Uganda, which is 200 km away from the capital, Kampala.
The village covers an area of around 100 square kilometres, and has a population of around 25,000 people. This is a very poor, remote area with no running water and very limited electricity supplies. The main occupation is subsistence farming.
